Customer Reviews of our House Plans:
The Hudson Park - HPG-30002B-1
When my husband Bruce and I were dating seventeen years ago, we loved to dream and plan our future together. One thing that was important to both of us was to eventually build a house that would be a home for our family for many generations. My grandparents lived on a beautiful hillside farm that I had grown up next to for twenty-five years. It was a dream for me to have my children play in the same woods I played in as a child. My husband shared my dream, and so for fifteen years we prayed, saved, and planned.
We looked at thousands of house plans. We knew exactly what we needed, what we wanted, and what we could only dream of. The first plans we liked slowly gave way to bigger ones as our family grew. My grandparents passed within three years of each other. The sorrow we felt at their loss was tempered only by the knowledge that my grandfather, Elmer, and grandmother, Dora, would love that their beloved great-grandchildren were bringing life back to "The Old Homeplace."
The features that really drew us to this particular plan were the traditional beauty and functionality of the home. We were building on an existing 100 year old farm and wanted the house to look like it belonged there, without sacrificing any comforts.
Over the past eight months, we have had the joy and privelege of watching the birth of a new chapter of our lives. We are moving from a 1500 square foot house in Defiance, Ohio, with very little yard to play in, and traffic such that I worry to let my children play outside alone. My 11-year-old daughter Emily is the fortunate child; she has her own room. My four sons, ages 4-14, share a room with two sets of bunk beds. There is not enough room to have dresser space for everyone. The one bathroom is a challenge on busy school days!
The kitchen is inexplicably shrinking as the kids grow. Once everyone is seated at the table, no one can get up because there's not enough room to walk around the table! It's ok, if anyone needs a knife or fork, I only have to lean over to get it out of the drawer, and my husband can lean over to the stove to reach the pans. Tv and movies are usually watched with us laying all over each other like a pack of dogs. The heartbreak for me came when my son Elijah asked a friend over to spend the night, and the friend said our house was too small. NO MORE!
As soon as we saw these plans, we said that THIS was the perfect one for our family! Beautiful on its own, and so easy to modify for our needs and dreams. Our new house has room for everyone, and then some! We have had so many people comment that the house looks like it belongs to the surroundings. The cheery yellow siding, white gingerbread trim on the porch and the fishscale siding in the peaks just cry farmhouse.
We love to sit on the wide front porch and just enjoy the serenity as we watch the kids catch fireflies. We can sit in the back enclosed porch to relax and watch the kids play, or just watch the chickens as they peck around looking for bugs in the yard. The sound of rain on the green metal roof is one of my favorite sounds. To sit in the study in the window seat and read a book while the rain hits the roof...Heaven!
The kids take such pride in their own space. They never imagined they would each get their own room! Even our four year old son Gideon loves his own room. He loves the "secret room" we tucked under the eaves for his toys. The bathrooms are wonderful - two or three sharing a bathroom is really a luxury! The large closets and amount of space for storage is more than we could have hoped for.
We truly appreciate all the special touches of the house, and there is no unused or wasted space, which was important to me. The pantry area is a favorite of mine. No more storing food and pans in the basement! A long counter holds the crock pots, roasters and coffee pot, and a pocket door slides to hide it all in a moment. My children now understand the old adage, "a place for everything and everything in its place." The family room is roomy yet welcoming. No longer will we have to pile on one another to watch tv (but we may choose to!). The gas fireplace in the family room will be well used, and so easy to use. The gas fireplace in the master bedroom will keep us toasty on blustery winter evenings, or when the electricity fails, as it often does out in the country.
The kids have so much room to spread out, and no reason not to have friends over. The huge bonus area over the garage will be their favorite place to hang out, but the basement has plenty of room for the workout equipment that we had no space for in our first home. It will get a lot of use from my oldest son Zack as he trains for wrestling season. There's still plenty of space to put a pool table, and even a ping pong table that has been requested by our nine-year-old Luke.
I was raised to be happy with what we have, but to be truly thankful for what we have been blessed with. This house has been a real blessing for every member of our family, and will be a cherished home for many generations to come.
House Plan Gallery's plans were great to build from, and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new home for their family!

The Wilson Creek - HPG-1509B-1
I bought this house plan with the intent to build a future "retirement" home in Port Townsend, a seaside community on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.
It's a beautiful bungalow style home, all on one level with a fabulous master suite, a large great room, two covered porches and two additional bedrooms as well as attached two car garage.
I especially liked this plan because of the varied roof line which gives it fabulous curb appeal and the great room which makes it feel a lot bigger than it's 1500 square feet.
Some of my favorite features are that it has two covered porches, a large and luxurious master suite, and it is all one one level.
The home is built on a level and private wooded lot, 2 blocks from the beach and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. In the morning, the sun shines down through the trees onto the back porch and you can sit there sipping your coffee and watch the very tame deer wander through the forest and right up to the house.
We painted the house in a combination of forest green, tan, and off white trim with a dark cherry stain on the front door. It looks perfect in the woods and makes a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
I would definately recommend House Plan Gallery to anyone looking for a new home...
Easton Ridge - HPG-2369-1
Our story is one that is 20 years in the making. We relocated to Tennessee and purchased our first home which was approximately 1300 sq. feet. While this was adequate for my wife and I, we knew that eventually we would want to build something to suit our particular needs and lifestyle. Over the years, we put together lists of likes and dislikes. We also spent a lot of time touring homes, looking at house plan magazines and online sites, as well as studying local housing designs and trends.
When considering house plans and designs, we always kept in mind our needs as a growing/changing family. Our first home was a cookie-cutter, two story, Cape Cod style, with the master on the first floor and the others on the second floor. We quickly realized the inconvenience and safety concerns of this design after our first child was born. When we had our second child, our desire to find a more family-friendly house plan became our number one priority.
Fortunately for us, the House Plan Gallery website was one of the first sites we accessed. We found the website extremely easy to use and the search options gave us the opportunity to look for the specific features we were hoping to find. We found that with HPG-2369!
This particular house plan offered one-level living with zoned bedrooms which provided optimal living for our diverse schedules. We were very impressed with each room’s square footage. The extra bedrooms have ample living and closet space.
The master suite is a wonderful retreat since it is located away from the primary living area of the home. The master bathroom is extremely spacious with a jetted tub and walk-in tiled shower. There are his and her separate vanities offering much storage and counter space. Additionally, the two separate walk-in closets provide all of the storage and hanging room anyone would ever need.
The kitchen was wide enough for an island which was one of our most sought after features. It is now the hub of our kitchen and allows us to maneuver easily when preparing meals and cleaning up. The corner pantry is conveniently located and large enough to store all of our food items and then some!
Because of the kitchen’s ample space, we were able to install both a gas cook-top and double electric wall ovens. The laundry room with utility sink is an area that definitely suits our needs.
With the inclusion of a large bonus room, our family is able to utilize the space for many things. It is truly a multi-purpose room. It is where our children store and play with most of their toys. There is also a built-in area for a projector television screen that we can use to watch movies and sporting events.
Off of the bonus room, we were able to add an additional room that can be utilized for many different things. This house’s layout is very fluid which allows you to easily and efficiently flow from one room to the next. The interior is wonderfully bathed in natural light from the many large windows situated in optimal areas around the house.
While the interior of this home is fantastic in and of itself, it wasn’t the only reason we went with this particular house plan. The exterior of the home is exactly the style we were drawn to. The French Country architectural style is very appealing and this house holds true to those characteristics. The roof pitches, gables, dormers, and arched entryway aesthetically accentuate the French Countryside look.
We also selected brick, soffit, gutters/downspouts, doors, and shutters in colors and styles that compliment the house’s design. We definitely achieved the look and feel we were dreaming of inside and outside our home.
We love everything about this house plan! Some of our favorite features include: every square foot is utilized efficiently (no wasted space); one-level living with zoned bedrooms; an abundance of storage; eat-in kitchen large enough to accommodate a center island; and charming architecture.
Thank you so much House Plan Gallery for providing this house plan that so fully met our needs. We also would like to compliment you on the customer service you provided to us on the purchasing of our plan. It was a wonderful experience and we would heartily recommend your company and home plans to anyone out there.

The Shadow Lane - HPG-18002-1
My wife (Jenny) and I (Geof) had been living in the Lower Main Land of British Columbia (Canada). We enjoyed our work and our friends there but were really wanting to move back to North Western Alberta to own some land and enjoy the open spaces. My growing girls had always dreamed of having their own horses and this was something that was not going to happen in BC. I also longed to get back to hunting, quading, and snowmobiling, again things I'd not be able to afford in BC. A large draw was also to live closer, once again, to a favorite cousin who was one of my best friends--Robert. Robert had been a bachelor for many years and finally met the woman of his dreams. We were looking so forward to getting to know Robert and his new wife Katrin, as a couple.
Tragically, six weeks after we had moved and three days short of their one year anniversary, Robert died in his sleep. We were devastated and wondered if we had made a mistake. We almost moved back to BC, because we didn't know how we could move forward, having had such a huge loss. Slowly the healing began to take hold and we started to think again about building our dream home. Robert's widow, Katrin, told us that one of Robert's last wishes that he expressed to her was that he wanted to sell a treasured piece of land to us.
Robert and I grew up hunting, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and playing on this beautiful property. When Katrin told us she'd like to sell this land to us, we were moved to tears and happily bought it from her. Many years earlier, Robert had cleared out an area on this property that he hoped to eventually build a log cabin on. He started building the log cabin with large sruce trees that dominated the property. He never did complete it as he just got too busy farming, but he did move the logs to his residence, just in case he would have time to work on it further. Once he passed away and even before we knew what house plan we would build, we knew where we would build the house. It would be on the spot that Robert had always dreamed of building his log cabin.
Jenny and I are not log cabin people, so that was never a question, but we wanted to somehow acknowledge Robert's dream for this part of the land. We have built our dream house and to top it off we plan to use some wood from Robert's half-built log cabin to make a mantle for our fireplace in our great room. Through our grief, the excellent design and assistance from House Plan Gallery to modify our plan has helped working through our loss a little more bearable. Many of Robert's friends and family members who have seen our house, have commented that Robert would have been so pleased to see what we've done with this property.
When we found your plans, we knew we found what we were looking for... Some of our favorite features of this home design are the spacious great room, the beautiful dormer windows at the front which let in a lot of natural light, and an amazing master bedroom and suite.
This house is not just our dream house, it is a memorial to an amazing godly man who was everyone's friend and whose influence is still being felt in so many people's lives to this day. Thanks House Plan Gallery for a beautiful house plan, which has turned into a beautiful house, which has become our home, which has brought a lot of peace and comfort...
The Avondale Court - HPG-2200C-1
I spent many nights looking on the internet for house plans. After about 2-3 weeks of looking my husband and I decided on this house plan. We liked the front porch going across the front of the home and the size of the master bath & bed room.
We received our plans and that began four months of decisions. The only other home that we had built was back in the 60's with a local homebuilder in the Houston area. We sub-contracted out the building of this home with the help of our daughter and a nephew who is in the building business. The foundation was poured in December and we moved in the 17th of April.
My mother moved in to the home with us in February of 2008. We have been in our home going on 3 years and every week or so my husband and I look at each other and say how much we enjoy this home. We cannot come up with anything we would change. Our nephew that is in the home building business has built 2 homes from the prints of our house. People drive by and some have stopped in to let us know how much they admire the outside of the home and our family tells us that they “love” the inside.
I'm glad we purchased the prints from House Plan Gallery and would highly recommend them to anyone who is planning on building a home...

My wife and I were at our wits end trying to find the right house plan for our family. You’d think with all the thousands of house plans out there that we could easily find the right plan for ourselves. We found our way to globalhouseplans.com and still couldn’t find the right design. Then in desperation we went back to the site and found two plans that were close to what we wanted. The two plans were from House Plan Gallery, but neither was exactly what we wanted. Another house plan website got us in touch with House Plan Gallery and soon their helpful staff were able to blend the two designs into the perfect design for us. Our Foundation was just poured yesterday and we can’t wait to watch our dream home come to fruition. Thanks House Plan Gallery for your expertise and help!

The Breckenridge - HPG-2750-1
Well, our story started about 5 years ago! My sister and her husband decided to split up the six acres they live on and let us build next door. It took us five long years to make it all happen.
We had to jump through hoops with the county government just to get the lot subdivided. As if that wasn't bad enough, we had a contract on our house which fell through...after we had all ready moved out!
So in May of 2010, after literally years of looking, we found the perfect house plan! Your house plan HPG-2750-1!
It was exactly what we were looking for! It was finally our time!
My husband (a Captain in the Fire Department and myself (a homemaker) were about to start the most exciting and scary project we had ever done! We were going to build a house!
We decided to be our own contractor (the best decision we've made to date...saved ourselves over $100,000.00!). We made up a proposal and went to the bank with our fingers crossed! We must have impressed them because about a month later we were breaking ground!
At the beginning of September 2010, the excavator began the digging of the foundation and by mid April 2011 we were moving into our beautiful new home. Along the way were so many ups and downs and decisions to made.
We did so much of the work ourselves...my husband not only designed the kitchen...he built the cabinets himself (they are amazing!), he hung every door and did all of the trim work! I painted almost every painted surface in the house! We even had the kids helping!
This was an experience that I would never trade and we are all reminded every day that hard work does pay! We all love our new home!
I went online and found your house plans and loved them! We were looking to build something a little smaller, than the house we previously had, as we were moving from the gulf coast up to north Mississippi. When I found this plan, it was perfect for us. We constantly receive compliments about how beautiful the home is and how the floorplan is so well laid-out and utilizes every square inch of space. I really enjoyed building the home, and would recommend House Plan Gallery, wholeheartedly, to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-designed, and affordable home design...

The plans from House Plan Gallery were very complete and the only changes we made were enhancements we added. This home offered an upscale home plan in a smaller package which is what many people are seeking today. We built it to fit retirees or a family, with a retired couple buying the home.
The home finished with a very elegant look and most important a different look than other new homes in our area. It is a high end home with very elegant look that was well received in our community.
I will go back to House Plan Gallery for my next plan. The plans, as stated, are complete and ready for building. We did not have to worry about changes except ones we customized to plan.
I am a licensed real estate agent with RE/MAX Grand Lake and when I do a project I hire a local builder to take care of construction. We have built 5 homes in past 3 years for resale. It is a way to offer upscale properties in our area and to enhance my real estate sales.
